Research Experiences
The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, The University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia.
July 2018 - September 2018
Supervisors: Dr. Mark Van Delft and Prof. David Huang
Exploring the role of VDAC in apoptosis with yeast models.
Supervisors: Dr. Sarah Best and Dr. Kate Sutherland
Investigating the loss of Keap1 on Kras-mutant lung cancer with Lkb1 loss.
Institute of Science and Technology, AVIAN Behavioral Genomics and Physiology Group, IFM Biology, Linköping University, Sweden.
January 2018 - June 2018
Supervisor: Prof. Jordi Altimiras
The effects of angiotensin, thyroid hormone and phenylephrine on embryonic cardiomyocytes. The hyperplasia and hypertrophy of cardiomyocytes induced by hormones were examined using MTS and BrdU assays.
State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Life Sciences, School of Life Sciences, Nanjing University.
October 2016 - present
Advisor: Prof. Xi Chen
Identification of the roles of ING2 in gastric cancer and renal cell cancer. I mainly focused on cell culture, western blotting, q-RT-PCR and data analysis.
iGEM project “Free From Fat”: Targeted exosome-mediated delivery of Bcl-2 siRNA for treatment of obesity. We modified exosomes to target white adipocytes and deliver Bcl-2 siRNA to induce apoptosis without severe side effects.
Currently studying a novel delivery system for mTOR siRNA and its potential to treat colorectal cancer.
School of Earth Sciences and Engineering and School of Life Sciences, Nanjing University.
September 2015 - January 2016
Advisors: Prof. Xiancai Lu and A/Prof. Ruiyong Wang
We unveiled the optimal environmental condition and molecular mechanism of biomineralization of ankerite induced by AMDY2-9-2, a strain of Fe-reducing bacteria and CaCO3 induced by Pseudomonas Putida. As the leader of the interdisciplinary National Student's Project, I was mainly in charge of project design and the characterization of bacteria proliferation and crystal formation.
